2007-2008 Gold Award Recipients

The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest achievement in Girl Scouting. Girl Scouts earning this award express a special commitment to themselves, the community, the world and the future.

The path to the Gold Award includes earning four Interest Project Patches, the Career Exploration Pin, the Senior Girl Scout Leadership Award, the Senior Girl Scout Challenge and the Girl Scout Gold Award project. The project requires girls to use their skills and leadership to design, develop and carry out a project that will benefit others. The combination of the girls' talents and energies with their values and convictions makes a positive difference in the lives of others.



The Girls and Their Projects:

Service Unit 1

Brittany Cozza - Operation Shoebox - Worked with Operation Shoebox and Tewksbury Township Police to raise patriotic awareness within the community. Collected and sent needed items to our service men and women by organizing a community packing day.

Melissa Foley - Supplies for Success - Addressed the issue of children in Appalachia whose families cannot purchase necessary school supplies. Collected supplies, assembled and shipped almost 100 backpack/kits for children in elementary, middle and high schools in Appalachia.

Madeline Hargis - Camp Lamington Vacation Bible School - Ran a five-day camp full of activities such as arts and crafts, science exploration, cooking, recreational games, and music lessons, all of which had an underlying religious theme. Fifty people participated in the camp. Held a Mission Project by collecting school supplies for schools in Iraq.

Kathryn Kopp - Take A Hike: Fairmount Park North/National Trails Day - Made the community aware of the new trails at Fairmount Park. Marked and mapped the trails for easy hiking adventures. Held an "opening" of the trails for the community that coincided with National Trails Day.

Alyssa Link - Field Hockey Clinic - Addressed the need for a youth field hockey league in Tewksbury Township. A four-day clinic was held over the course of two weeks to introduce the basic skills of the sport.

Emma Poppe - Faith in Friends: A Place to Gather - Painted and decorated three rooms for a youth center in a local church. Ran an event called "Kids Night In, Parents Night Out," with games, music, movies, and snacks.

Nicole Reinhardt - Teaching the Community How to Create A Compost - Discover the need to move compost bins inside deer fence at Hunterdon County Arboretum. Designed a new layout for display to the public and revised educational board and brochure.

Katie Ricciardi - Landscaping Habitat for Humanity Built Home - Project focused on landscaping the yard of a house built by Habitat for Humanity. Held several bake sales to purchase plants, organized volunteers, and held a planting day. Also volunteered for Habitat for Humanity.

Service Unit 2

Kimberley Bredenbeck - Felines Around the World Fundraiser - This project was designed to help the cats at Tabby's Place, a cat shelter that takes in sick cats and helps them recover or gives them a peaceful place to spend their last days. Hosted a fair filled with games and educational fun to raise money for supplies and increase awareness of Tabby's Place.

Danielle Brooks - Giving Back to Hospice - Embroidered donated blankets for Hospice patients to make patients more comfortable while lying in their beds, and put together gift baskets for the nurses to show appreciation for their work.

Kimberly Ceres - Activity Bags in the ER - Addressed the fact that the emergency room is an intimidating place for a child. Created activity baskets for children to help ease the hospital experience.

Jacqueline Halliday - A Garden for Little Hearts - Enhanced, beautified, and improved an existing garden and the area under the welcome sign at Spruce Run School, benefiting the entire school community.

Ashley Klein - Felines Around the World Fair - Organized a fair for the children of our community with games, prizes, food, and a DJ to raise awareness of and support for Tabby's Place.

Kelsey Lally - Aiding Camp Nejeda - Contacted local businesses to collect supplies for Camp Nejeda, a non-profit summer camp for insulin dependent diabetic children. Supplies included a washer and dryer, new carpeting, 1,800 bottles of water, a digital camera, wood for a rock wall, paper products, medical supplies and more. Also collected a piece of papal carpet for each camper.

Delphine Marini - Helping Out Parents - Donated gift bags filled with basic necessities to parents with sick children in Hunterdon Medical Center.

Lindsey Mehring - Roger's Rescues - Helped increase awareness of the problem of dogs needing shelters in southern states and worked with a local animal rescue group to address a solution to the problem of homeless dogs.

Mariel Murphy - Earrings for Cure Autism Now - Designed and created over 300 pairs of earrings using Swarovski crystals to donate to Cure Autism Now so that they might be able to use them to raise money for autism research.

Amanda Romano - Giving Back to Hospice - Addressed the need for compassionate consideration for Hospice patients and their nurses. Embroidered blankets with inspirational sayings for the Hospice patients and put together "care bags" for the nurses.

Corina Serrani - CARE Couture Tote Bags - Addressed the issue of unsanitary drinking water in developing nations. Tote bags were sewn and donated to CARE Couture, who will sell them and put the money toward providing sanitary water.

Elizabeth Smolyn - Project Safe Children - Addressed the issue of children's safety. Provided parents with a safety resource catalog to educate their children, as well as an identification card for young children that can be used in case of an emergency.

Denise Thiel - Raising A Seeing-Eye Puppy - Spent 18 months training, caring for, and traveling with a puppy to prepare it for further training to guide a blind person. This process allows the dog to mobilize an independent person who is in need.

Svenja van den Woldeberg - Luminaries for the Community - Brought together the condominium complex through simple group work. The project involved making luminaries, lining the streets with them, lighting them, and cleaning them up.

Kelley Wallace - Class of 2008 Throughout the Years - Solicited photos from all members of the North Hunterdon Class of 2008. Created a 13-minute photo montage that represented the spirit and hard work of the senior class. Presented montage at annual senior banquet for students, parents, and faculty of school.

Service Unit 4

Kristen Calabro - Safe in Hunterdon's Holiday Float and Playhouse - Created a float for the Communities of Light Campaign, to raise public awareness about the issue of domestic violence. Donated the playhouse to the agency's transition house for children who are victims of domestic violence.

Shakeela Faulkner - Living Out the Word on Stage - Provided an activity to keep the youth of the church involved in the worship services and make the scripture easier to understand.

Crystal Fedeli - Teaching Five Year Olds French - Taught five year olds French such as basic words, the ABC's, 123's, family members and how to carry on a simple conversation.

Michelle Galinak - Cases of Smiles - Instructed various groups in the community in making pillowcases for the ConKerr Cancer Organization to brighten the day of hospitalized children struggling with cancer and other life threatening diseases.

Dana Kephart - Music Enrichment for Young Students - Addressed the issue of arts appreciation in the community. Planned and conduced music enrichment class for children that culminated in a performance.

Megan McDonough - Snap, Crackle, TABS! - Collected soda tabs from local schools. Tabs were delivered to the Ronald McDonald House to be recycled and used for household items.

Christina Russell - Landscaping Our Lady of Hope House - Addressed the need to provide a more welcoming feeling for families coming to Our Lady of Hope House. Made a garden wall, planted hollies and a tree, and made beds for the plants.

Service Unit 5

Deryn Cro - Interfaith Blankets - Acquired 160 new blankets for the Interfaith Hospitality Network of Warren County, New Jersey.

Jessica Jackson - Feel Good Bags To Enhance Self-Esteem - Addressed the issue of eating disorders affecting young women in society today. During recovery, "Feel Good Bags" consisting of toiletries, stationery and comfort items were distributed at a local hospital.

Susan Vitale - Surgery Center Recovery Room Project - Improving children's not-so-pleasant Recovery Room experiences by brightening the atmosphere through giant paintings, hand-drawn coloring books, and donated boxes of crayons.

Service Unit 6

Courtney Ennis - Dress for Success - Joined with DFS, an organization benefiting underprivileged women seeking employment, and held a two-day handbag/accessories drive collecting over 100 items. In addition, created tote bags, sorted and organized donations.

Rachel Kloss - Butterflies and Beneficial Insects Teaching Garden - Designed and created the Whitehouse Elementary School's courtyard garden. Created a complementary scrapbook to pass on to the school's community with instructions on how to keep up with the maintenance and care of the garden's plants.

Kristen Kostakis - Help Rebuild St. Vincent DePaul - Rebuilding of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Elementary School in Mississippi. Collected school supplies and learning/teaching aids from religious education students and parishioners at Our Lady of Lourdes. These items were sent to the library and classrooms of the new and improved facility.

Megan Schuster - Eversole Hall House Museum Kitchen and Medicinal Garden - Created a garden with a variety of heirloom herbs and vegetables from the 1830's. Designed a visitors' guide and a manual for future garden care.

Service Unit 8

Alexandra Anello - Swim Program for the Blind and Visually Impaired - Addressed the need for water safety and swim instruction for the blind and visually impaired at Camp Little Rock. Created the swim instruction portion of the program and a swimming manual.

Jennifer Anello - Swim Program for the Blind and Visually Impaired - Addressed the need for water safety and instruction for the blind and visually impaired at Camp Little Rock. Created the water fun and games portion of the program and a swimming manual.

Kerry Bickford - Hosting Blood Drives - Addressed the issue of low levels of blood donations in New Jersey. Advertised and ran four blood drives, collecting over 100 pints of blood, and designed a website about blood donation.

Jenna Masi - Swim Program for the Blind and Visually Impaired - Addressed the need for water safety and swim instruction for the blind and visually impaired at Camp Little Rock. Created the water safety portion of the program and a swimming manual.

Nicole Salter - Food for the Hungry - Addressed the issue of hunger facing many families. Ran eight food drives for the Food Bank Network of Somerset County, collecting over 300 bags of food.

Miranda Zimmerman - Therapy Dog - Worked to obtain therapy dog certification with her dog, Alec. Together they worked to brighten the lives of others who can't live in their own homes anymore.

Service Unit 9

Melanie Brennan - Pep Band Warm Up - Crocheted scarves in school colors for the high school Pep Band to provide a sense of uniformity, as well as offering protection from the cold temperatures at the football games.

Nicole Herzog - Enhancing Senior Citizen Living - Addressed the issue of decreased activity in the lives of many senior citizens. With help from the Watchung Terrace Senior Housing staff, donations from local businesses, and generous volunteers, put together programs and activities for the residents at Watchung Terrace to improve their mental and physical health.

Karen Perko - So You've Got Growth Hormone Deficiency Too... - Addressed the condition from a personal viewpoint, including reactions from immediate family members. Discussed impact on all aspects of life, not just medical ones. Created brochure regarding the metabolic condition of Growth Hormone Deficiency.

Service Unit 10

Jessica Hoenig - Poems for Pride - Introduced poetry to fourth graders and encouraged them to write positive pieces about the community. Created a 20-page book and distributed it in seven places around town to promote writing and community spirit.

Shaina Huff - Basket of Caring - Addressed the needs of the children and families of the Norwescap Head Start Program by providing basic necessities. Through continued donations, project will make a difference in the families' lives.

Kara Kirst - RCOLT: Day Camp Revised - Addressed the issue of a stagnant summer day camp program at the local school. Executed a new program including new quests and activities and oversaw children and other counselors.

Lauren Lusardi - Confirmation Classroom Remodeling - Cleaned, repainted, and rejuvenated four large catechism classrooms at her church.

Kaitlin McGann - Butterfly Garden - Created a butterfly garden at school and taught second graders about butterflies with a lesson and a craft.

Amy Pawlowski - Revamping Wesley United Methodist Church's Youth Group - Focused on rejuvenating a church youth program. Created and executed different activities to kick-start a successful program.

Sarah Saporito - Basket of Caring - Addressed the needs of the children and families of the Norwescap Head Start Program. Coordinated a drive to collect clothes, toiletries and baby care products.

Taralyn Stokes - Helping an Animal Shelter in Need - Addressed needs of a local animal shelter. Distributed 600 flyers, displayed posters and set up bins for collecting items in supermarkets, then delivered donated items to shelter.

Service Unit 12

Caitlin Carey - Out of Silence - Created the website www.stepoutofthesilence.org to help end the stigma surrounding mental illness, to assist teens in getting help, to offer support and to combat the isolation that so many experience with these illnesses. The motto is "Share your Story, Stop the Stigma, Save a Life."

Kathleen Kerwin - Pet Therapy for the Elderly - Addressed the issue of boredom and depression among the elderly in nursing homes. Visited two nursing homes on a weekly basis with her rabbit, Orli, to help improve the mental, emotional, and physical health of the residents.

Anne Rybak - Operation Iraqi Children Drive - Addressed the issue of children being unable to attend school. Collected basic school supplies to form 104 kits worth about $12 each.

Service Unit 13

Danielle Flint - Juan F. Luis Playroom - The children's playroom of the Governor Juan F. Luis Hospital in St. Croix lacked any means of entertainment. Collected donations of books, toys, games, and puzzles and gave them to the hospital so that children who now visit the hospital will have something to make their visit a little more enjoyable.

Victoria Jankoski - Raising a Seeing-Eye Puppy - Raised and trained a Seeing Eye puppy that will become a companion and helper for a blind person.

Kristin Karg - Uniting Youth and Seniors - Addressed the needs of nursing home residents by organizing visits from youth, ranging from Daisies to pre-teens, to residents of the Bridgeway Care Center. This resulted in a positive outcome for both groups involved.

Megan Moore - Public Speaking - Allowed Brownie Girl Scouts to build their confidence when speaking in public by providing the opportunity for them to practice in front of their peers, as well as teaching them important characteristics of a good public speaker.

Laura Nevar - Girls' Junior Olympics - Focused on sports for younger girls and promoted athletics. Allowed girls to participate in sports, learn new activities and stressed importance of healthy choices.

Service Unit 14

Katy Calligaro - Making A Difference, A Book At A Time - Had books used in English As a Second Language (ESL) program at school donated and then put on tape for ESL students and their parents to use at home to improve language skills and confidence.

Gina Cermenaro - Senior ACES (Senior Artists Create, Express, Share) - Organized an art program at local nursing home. Addressed shortage of volunteers to spend time with elderly residents of the community. Implemented program giving the elderly a sense of pride, socialization, and creativity.

Kayla Coady - Spreading Cheer - Addressed the needs of young children hospitalized at St. Peter's. Collected toys and games for the hospital's new playroom.

Alexandra Enny - Athletes Beat Out Hunger - Program involving athletes in an effort to fight hunger. Helped teams plan special pasta parties/events where food, products, casseroles were collected and donated to Samaritan Homeless Interim Program in Somerville.

Jennifer Ferris - "Weeding" the Van Holten Library - The school library's book collection was sorted with the goal of removing obsolete, damaged, and rarely used books. Based on their circulation history, books were repaired, replaced, or boxed for donation to a Taiwan school.

Sarah Greenstone - Costumes for Pageant and All Saints Day - Coordinated her church's fourth and fifth grade performances. Supervised cutting and sewing of costumes, and helped sew costumes as well.

Erica LaBish - A Helping Hand for Seniors - Collected and distributed items that would be beneficial and uplifting. Talked with various seniors while giving them flowers and books to brighten their day.

Alyssa Landen - Student/Mom Study and Resource Room - An empty room at NMNE (New Moms, New Expectations) was turned into a functional office where new single mothers can study, and their children receive free day care.

Monisha Mallela - Blankets for Project Linus - Made knitted, crocheted and fleece blankets that were donated to hospitals for sick children.

Kaitlyn McGhee - Baskets for Babies - Collected baby supplies and made donations in the fall and spring of needed items to three organizations in Somerset County: New Moms, New Expectations, Interfaith Hospitality Network and Catholic Charities.

Mackenzie Moran - Prisoner Communication - Addressed the issue of prisoner communication by implementing a greeting card and stationery program. Organized donations in shoeboxes for the prisoners at the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility.

Casey Randazzo - Express Your Creativity! - Collected magazines for the teenagers of Robert Wood Johnson Children's Hospital. Also collected donations of crayons, markers and paints and created activity kits. Painted characters on the windows of the children's cancer unit.

Sarah Ridzy - Reading Buddies - Designed an elementary school literacy program. Children in first through fourth grades paired up with teen volunteers to explore the fun of reading, with emphasis on role models as friends and learning as recreation.

Valerie Roman - Collecting Musical Instruments - Held a musical instrument collection in the Bridgewater-Raritan schools. The donated instruments were then given to the Bridgewater-Raritan District Musical Instrument Department to be used by students of families with financial difficulties.

Katherine Ronk - Bringing People Together - Organized visits in which youth volunteers could speak to nursing home residents. Helped the volunteers find ways to relate to the older generation, and gave the elderly someone to talk to and share their stories with.

Kasey Thompson - A Garden Grows - Transformed an overgrown garden at Muhlenberg Hospital to a beautiful environment for patients and employees to enjoy. Also created and sewed blankets for newborn babies to take home from the hospital.

Caitlin Wilkinson - Stockings Filled with Support and Love - Made stockings for the soldiers overseas. Cut, sewed and ironed stockings from donated fabric and supplies, filled them with goodies, then shipped them to an organization in Delaware for the soldiers.

Service Unit 15

Kristin Alexy - Whodunit? An Inside Look at Forensic Science - Addressed the need for academic activities to excite children about learning. Presented a Forensic Science seminar at New Jersey Association for Gifted Children Conference.

Julie Anne Butare - Community Chest for Children, Church and Community - Addressed the need for a safe, organized working area for the church and pre-school programs. Designed and built two mobile storage chests that organized and separated materials.

Amanda Lee Coe - Junior High Mission Camp - Organized and ran a week-long day camp that sent 20 middle-schoolers to local organizations including "Needles and Threads", the Morristown Soup Kitchen, Matheny Hospital, retirement homes, and various church sites to do mission work.

Mary Cole - Tour of Honor - Honored World War Two veterans for their service by taking them on a free bus trip to Washington, DC, where they visited the WWII Memorial, Arlington Cemetery, and the Iwo Jima Memorial.

Jennifer Kasbohm - Go, Go, Go Joseph: An Amazing Technicolor Vacation Bible School - Created and implemented a new vacation Bible school program at Blessed Sacrament Church. Sixty-five students enhanced their faith with stories, songs, crafts, and a performance of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat."

Kristine Piret - Birthday Bags - Gave birthday party supplies to less fortunate families so that kids could have birthday parties similar to the ones we have all had or attended as children.

Megan Plank - Operation Smile: Smile Bags - Addressed the issue of children with cleft palates in developing nations. Created bags for Operation Smile to give to children recovering from reconstructive surgery.

Alyssa Pulice - Teddy Bear Drive - Made a gesture of hope and love by sending teddy bears, dolls and books to children whose lives were completely changed by Hurricane Katrina.

Emily Shahbazian - Project Teamwork - Addressed the needs of children at the Martin Luther King Youth Center in Bridgewater through tutoring, mentoring, and supervision. Implemented a clothing drive and gave a demonstration emphasizing proper oral hygiene.

Danielle Tress - Therapy Dog - Trained her dog to be a therapy dog. Visited nursing homes and talked with patients.

Emily Turlip - Butterfly Garden for Library - Helped beautify and create a more welcoming exterior to the Bound Brook Memorial Library using donated flowers and mulch.

Lisette Untoria - Blessed Sacrament Christmas Pageant - Presented the nativity scene to the CCD students, family and friends of her parish. Involved the children of the parish and reminded them of the true meaning of Christmas.

Barbara Vintzileos - Dress for Success - Conducted clothing drive to collect gently used professional attire and accessories. Donated to the Morris County Chapter of Dress for Success in Madison, NJ. Volunteered as a personal shopper and assisted clients with professionally coordinated outfits.

Service Unit 16

Kristina Blaszka - Asbury Fields Picnic Area - Created a picnic area for local residents to enjoy. Laid down a brick foundation and made two picnic tables. Community bought engraved bricks.

Stephanie Capraro - Asbury Soccer Fields Picnic Area - Provided the first picnic area in our township for everyone in the community to enjoy.

Jessica Masulli - Washington Township Senior Citizens Advisory Committee - Established a Senior Citizens Advisory Committee to survey senior citizens, provide services for them, and allow seniors to play a more active role in local government.

Nicole Prisco - Hospital Care Packages - Addressed the need for care packages for the elderly after they return home from a hospital stay. Obtained donations from local organizations and made items by hand for 50 care packages.

Alexandra Stockton - Baby Bundles - Addressed the issue of low-income mothers in the county unable to purchase baby items for their newborns. Implemented a collection bin for items, and delivered them to a local agency to distribute to new mothers.

Service Unit 17

Amy Killian - Smile Bags - Purchased games, toys and books to put into 85 goodie bags to give to the children staying at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital. Also made 85 teddy bears and put one inside each bag.

Laura Kleiman - Cultural and Musical Programs for Seniors - Brought entertainment and new experiences to residents of various senor citizen living areas. Directed different programs involving aspects of their lives they no longer had much contact with.

Deanna Milano - Youth Music Project - Promoted the arts and music at the Neshanic Reformed Church. Directed a youth vocal choir and a hand bell choir, focusing on the hand bell choir.

Victoria Pinciotti - Teddy Bear Hugs - Organized sewing sessions in which Girl Scout troops helped sew bears, which were then distributed to the patients at St. Peter's Hospital and Summerville Assisted Living.

Gina Serra - Homework Help Program - Addressed the needs of children who attend the after-school program at the local elementary schools for proper homework help. Implemented a program and recruited volunteers to expand the program and help more kids at four schools.

Kasey Smith - Therapeutic Riding Program - Addressed the issue of special needs children needing special therapies. Took over a program for children ages 2-14, ranging from mainstream to severely autistic. Planned activities, created sensory games and acquired mentors.

Erin Suozzo - Youth Music Project - This project was an effort to promote the arts and music at the Neshanic Reformed Church. Directed a youth vocal choir and a hand bell choir, focusing on the vocal choir.

Allyson Swedler - Never Too Late To Learn - Program for assisted living residents. Enhanced the lives of residents by planning many hands-on activities and arranging for guest speakers to share interesting and educational slide shows with them.

Marissa Wilson - Parcel of Hope - Addressed the issue of inadequately supplied schools in Kenya. Collected school supplies and donated them to a public school in Kenya and a Massai Village school.

Victoria Wilson - Never Too Late To Learn - Aided the residents at the local Summerville Assisted Living in expanding their knowledge and broadening their horizons through food preparations and sampling, visual education presentations and craft activities.

Service Unit 18

Alexandra Andreassen - Pretty Playgrounds for Princeton Nursery School - Improved the playground of a nursery school dedicated to serving low income families by obtaining playground toys, building an outdoor storage box for the toys, planting flowers, and helping the children make decorations.

Hope Bertelsen - T.A.B.S. - Taking Action By Saving - Focused on helping children with severe illnesses, primarily by creating medical dolls for children at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital and supporting Ronald McDonald House of New Brunswick.

Kimby Heil - Swim Towards Success/One Stroke at a Time - Taught underprivileged children how to swim. Children learned a life skill, had fun, and found something to be proud of.

Kristin Kantor - Interacting with the Elderly - Through another service organization, noticed nursing home residents enjoyed interacting with teenagers and benefited from the time spent together. Put together a summer program of games and crafts.

Victoria Kantor - Outreach to the Elderly - Since the elderly are often forgotten at nursing homes and spend many hours with not much to do, gave them the opportunity to spend their summer afternoons doing crafts and playing games.

Arielle Knapp - Treats Making Smiles - Prepared decorated gift bags and filled them with a variety of homemade treats for Elijah's Promise Food Bank. Involved younger Girl Scout troops by having them decorate the bags for service hours.

Veronica Kyrk - Fun with Friends - Helped autistic children expand and relate to other kids during an after-school activity, where they played games and learn to work with others.

Katie Meola - Appalachian Gift Project - Rallied resources of local families and organizations to provide and deliver individually selected holiday gifts for 110 low-income children in Pike County, Kentucky.

Michelle Morgenstern - Video Tour of Montgomery High School - Addressed the issue of high school freshmen getting lost in a new school environment and helped incoming students understand high school. Implemented a video tour of the high school and talked to several troops about what to expect and what not to expect in high school.

Tyler Atkins Mulford - Internet Bullying Presentation - Informed administrators, teachers, police officers, parents, and students on how to prevent and react to "cyber-bullying" and how to use the Internet safely.

Bridget O'Brien - Sports Equipment Collection - Addressed the issue of lack of sports equipment available for underprivileged children. Collected, sorted and sanitized sports equipment donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters in Philadelphia.

Sophia Parvez - From Sea to Shining Sea - Recognized and supported our country's soldiers, their families, and veterans. Ran a holiday party for military children and involved younger scouts in thanking both current and past soldiers.

Lauren Pleeter - My Hands T-Shirt - Addressed the needs of the mentally and physically challenged children of the Shalva Organization in Israel. Assisted the children in decorating their own t-shirts with their fingerprints and the fingerprints of friends, thereby connecting all the children of Shalva.

Zoë Shaheen - T.A.B.S. - Taking Action By Saving - Focused on helping children with severe illnesses by creating medical dolls for children at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital and supporting Ronald McDonald House of New Brunswick.

Adenike Sonaike - Culture Clash - Focused on teaching cultural awareness to young children in Montgomery Township. They were taught about various ethnic foods, music, clothes, and traditions. Lesson plans were also made to allow the spreading of cultural awareness to continue.

Arielle Starkman - Hebrew School Arts & Crafts Program - Provided Hebrew school students with educational and culture based craft projects each month. Students were able to explore Jewish customs while unearthing their creativity.

Katie Weinschenk - A Stroll Through the Solar System - Created a proportionate model of the solar system along a half-mile pathway that connects two local elementary schools. This interactive and educational resource will be utilized by district teachers, local Scouts, and the community.
