Girl Scouting Beyond Bars at Work

- The troop meets twice monthly, when girls are bused to the council office for troop meetings with their peers or to the prison for visitation with their mothers.
- Inmates meet weekly for parenting classes and prepare for monthly visits with their daughters. In partnership with volunteers, mothers serve as troop leaders to their daughters, working in groups on traditional Girl Scout activities.
- Girls and their mothers learn to improve self–esteem, leadership, communication skills and values. Through these lessons, the program aims to re-establish the integrity of the mother-daughter bond.
