Hotel Safety
General Safety:
- At Check-In, ask that your room number be written down and not said out loud so it is not available to anyone standing nearby in the lobby.
- If your Hotel has several buildings, request a room in the main building.
- Always keep your door locked, and use the door's dead bolt, flip-lock and/or chain at night.
- Make sure the windows and the between-room door are locked.
- Take along a small nightlight to light an unfamiliar setting.
- Always use the peephole and chain when someone knocks at your door.
- If someone knocks on your door and identifies themselves as Hotel staff or security, call the front desk to verify before opening the door.
- Although they can clean the sheets each day, even the best Hotels find it too expensive to dry-clean the bed's comforter with each guest. Therefore, it is recommended that you might want to avoid lying around on top of the comforter.
- Immediately report any suspicious activity to the Hotel's staff.
- Never leave anything of value in an unoccupied room.
- Choose Hotels with interior halls.
- Discuss all of these safety issues with the girls and adult volunteers.
