The program is intended to raise the girls' awareness and concern for the wellness of the planet. We hope that all troops will participate in this council-wide project.
The program has three parts:

There is a list of many good "green" websites (Girls Go Green Links) that you can refer to for more
activities, tips, facts and more.
Older Girl Scouts can earn this patch by investigating some of the websites and then responding to the questions on the Go Green Survey. Then the girl, leader or parent may purchase the patch in the Council Shop.

Investigating & Discovery
List three surprising facts about the wellbeing of the Earth.
List three things that end up in landfill and the length of time it takes for them to decompose.
List three situations affected by global warming.
Find three quizzes, games or puzzles on the linked websites. Play them and then review them.
Brainstorming
Describe three situations that you feel are the most concerning to the environment.
List three processes that are not currently being done to preserve the environment.
List three changes you as an individual can make to improve the Earth.
List three outrageous - out of the box - ideas that people should consider to turn the world green.
Calculate and record your "carbon footprint." There are numerous links for calculating at the end of the list of links.
Commitment
Commit to an action so that our planet will be greener.
Commit to encouraging others to to take action so that our planet will be greener.

Use the websites on the Girls Go Green Links to be prepared to complete the survey questions.
