The following is a list of local people and places that you can contact directly to setup a visit for your troop according to your schedule and what works for your girls best. Some offer their services for free, some have a charge.
The Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia - 215-299-1060 offers try-it and badge days for Brownies & Juniors
Bank Street Art - contact Diane or Wendy- 908-727-0576 - 258 Main Street; Whitehouse Station, NJ. Does art tryits and badges. Capacity for 30 girls at a time.
Delaware and Raritan Canal Park - Stephanie Fox - 609-924-5705 - there are many programs that are already setup for you and the staff can customize a hike for your troop also. Programs can take place at various points along the canal including the park office in Kingston, NJ, or at Bulls Island Recreation Area in Stockton, NJ.
Family YMCA of Easton, Phillipsburg & Vicinity - 610-258-6158 - Wednesday 6 - 8 pm will work with your troop to complete: Brownies Sports & Games or Water Fun try-its; Juniors Swimming badge; Cadettes/Seniors - Water Sports Interest Award. Cost $ 4.00 per scout (4 minimum) contact: Christina Hagan x46.
Field Trip Factory - Fred Brown - 800-205-8782 - will set up a tour to assist you in completing requirements for several badges at stores like Petco, A & P, Superfresh, Borders and Wild Oats.
Fitness, Yoga, Nutrition - Joy McIntyre @ JCC - 908-725-6994 x226 - will assist a troop to earn fitness related badges including those requiring a pool
Heritage Trail Patrol of GSEPC - 610-253-0620 Sandra Villard - does a Musikfest for older girls to work on their leadership skills while learning early American folk art skills.
Japanese Cooking Demonstrations - Kimberly Ono - 908-203-1613 - demonstrations without a stove can be done in a classroom or with a stove if there is access to a kitchen; also does origami, Japanese writing and storytelling
Kelsey Theater at Mercer County College - 609-586-4800 x3566 - performances scheduled throughout the year for various age groups
Lakota Wolf Preserve - 89 Mt. Pleasant Rd, Colombia, NJ 07832- 1-877-733- 9653- (1-887-SEE WOLF) Two wolf watch programs daily. Reservations required for scout groups. Please call Tuesday-Thursday.
Mary Kay Cosmetics - Jenifer Santoro - 973-476-4935 - will schedule a lesson on face care and makeup at your troop meeting
Merrill Creek Reservoir - 34 Merrill Creek Road, Washington, NJ 07882- (908) 454- 1213- Nature programs for scouts can be scheduled Saturdays in Spring and Fall at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Naturalists will tailor a program to need your troops interests and can complete try-it and badge requirements.
NJ Greyhound Adoption Program - contact Gus Manz;1 Angus Road, Flemington, NJ 08822 908-788-9190 He will bring the dogs to your meeting.
Perfect Christmas Tree Farm - 999 Route 22, Lopatcong - 908-835-7840 - offers tours of the farm and learning opportunities about the benefit of trees, ecosystems and vermiculture.
Pieces of Time - Scrapbooking - 908-892-1737 - will offer troops classes scheduled to fit into your meeting times
Orthodontist - Dr. Robert Stanford - 908-722-5233 - will be very happy to schedule a tour of his office
Raptor Trust - 1390 White Bridge Road, Millington, NJ 07946 - (908) 647- 2353- Wild bird rehabilitation center. View aviaries with resident hawks, owls, falcons, vultures and eagles.
RVCC Planetarium Shows - 908-526-1200 - throughout the year shows are continuously scheduled and you can arrange your troop's visit for a special show
RVCC Theater - 908-526-1200 x8267 - performances throughout the year for all age groups
Red Mill Museum Village - Main St; Clinton, NJ - 908-735-4104 x102 Can do historical programs for Brownies &Juniors. Check availability and price.
The Rink @Lehigh Valley, PA - 610-434-6899 - offers special rates and dates for Girl Scouts
Sewing - Brenda Poston - 908-782-1291 - will gladly assist you in teaching your girls to sew
South Branch Watershed Association - 41 Lilac Drive, Flemington, NJ 08822- (908) 782-0422. Offers Waterways Stewardship program. Topics include watersheds, groundwater, field identification of stream life to determine water quality.
Stamp Art & Scrapbooking - Leigh Ann Yoder, The Sunshine Lady - 908-238-1238 -Will offer either classes or make up kits for you to use during a meeting
Students Live - www.studentslive.net - Workshops about theater arts that complement Broadway plays.
Technology Workshops - Mark Noble - 908-264-9147 - can create a computer/engineering workshop to meet your needs for badge requirements
