Somerville Memorial Day Parade

From the Somerville War Veterans Memorial Committee:

The Somerville War Veterans Memorial Committee is making plans for the annual Memorial Day parade on Monday, May 26, 2008. We invite the Girl Scouts to participate in this parade.

The parade will start promptly at 9:00 am on Grove Street and will follow the usual route, ending at New Cemetery on South Bridge Street. All units should be at the assembly point no later than 8:30 am. As there are other events planned for Main Street immediately after the parade, it is imperative that we start on time. We request that no special performances be held at the reviewing stand or along the parade route.

We invite all parade participants to return to the American Legion Hall at 232 Union Avenue, Somerville, for refreshments following the service at the cemetery.

We ask that any troops interested in marching in the parade contact me, Al Van Ravenswaay, at 908-722-7891. Questions and concerns may also be directed to me at that number.

We thank you for your enthusiastic participation in the past and look forward to seeing the Girl Scouts again this year.
