Use quotation marks to find phrases (words which must appear adjacent to each other), for
example, "Gold Award Application." Otherwise, the search results
will include the words Gold, Award, and Application,
but not necessarily in that order. Without quotation marks, the words may appear anywhere, and in any order, within
the document.
Use upper and lower case appropriately. The search is case insensitive if all the
letters are upper or all lower case. If you type either friends or FRIENDS,
results will include friends, FRIENDS and Friends. However, if you
search for Friends, results will include only Friends (not friends
or FRIENDS).
Use plus (+) or minus (-) Use a plus sign when your search term or phrase must
appear in the search results. Use a minus sign to indicate undesirable term(s). The plus
sign tells the search engine that a certain word or phrase is required in the search
results, and a minus sign indicates that a word or phrase must be absent in the search
results.
Check spelling.
This search will identify "sound-alike" words as hits, and will
automatically look for plurals.
