Juliette/Troop 2000 Girl Scouts

Did you know you can be a Girl Scout and not be part of a troop or group? Every girl has an opportunity to participate in enriching programs and activities in Rolling Hills Council as an individually registered Girl Scout, or Juliette, without being affiliated with a troop or group. At Rolling Hills Council, we also refer to individually registered girls as "Troop 2000." To be a Juliette in Rolling Hills, the girl must reside or attend school within the Rolling Hills service area.

Juliettes are busy, independent, self-confident individuals who want to be a part of something larger...Girl Scouts!

Juliette Girl Scouts choose this option for many reasons:

• Her schedule will not allow time for troop meetings.
• There may not be a troop or group in her area, or she is waiting to join a troop.
• Her troop has disbanded and she does not want to join another troop.
• She wants to participate in only one or two Girl Scout activities a year.

What can a Juliette do?

• A Juliette can do all of the same things as Girl Scouts in troops or groups on her own.
• She wears a "Juliette" patch on her uniform in place of troop or group numbers.
• She receives all council mailings.
• She can register for and attend programs and events for her age level, but an adult or parent must attend with her and stay for the entire program.
• Juliettes can also earn Girl Scout awards, from Try-Its, Badges and Interest Projects to the Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards.

To become a Juliette:

• If you wish to be an individually registered Girl Scout, unaffiliated with a troop, and...
• If you are a resident or attend school within the Rolling Hills Service Area.
• Then...

• Download and print a Troop 2000 Membership Form.
• Complete the form and have parent/guardian sign.
• Mail together with $10 membership fee to:

If a parent or other adult wishes to become a member, she must complete an Adult Registration Form and pay $10 as well. Mail to the above address along with the girl's Troop 2000 registration. Parent registration is not required, but is encouraged.

Parents/Adults Needed:
A Juliette Girl Scout needs someone to guide her. Since a formal troop leader is not present, she will need one or more adult mentors such as a parent or other adult to help her choose appropriate activities and guide her. The adult mentor is not required to take Girl Scout training, but some of the training courses would be helpful.
