Diane Koury
Owner/Operator,
McDonald's Restaurants

Diane Koury is a partner with her husband, Philip Koury, as Owner/Operators of the McDonalds’s Restaurants in Clinton and Washington, New Jersey. For the past nine years, the Koury’s community spirit has been exemplified through their dedication to the area’s schools, local sports teams, local museums and religious organizations.

Ketchup was flowing through Diane’s veins at an early age. In 1975, as a teenage student on Long Island, Diane began working for a McDonald’s competitor. After moving to New Jersey, she held the position of a McDonald’s Area Supervisor and worked for both the McDonald’s Corporation and Owner/Operators. In 1992, the couple opened their first McDonald’s in Clinton, NJ - the same site they visited on their second date, before they were aware of what the future would have in store for them.

Her support and commitment to the local community are routed in the appreciation she has for her customers’ sustained patronage. Locally, Diane is responsible for the chain’s involvement with schools and local Police Departments in presenting such programs as Bicycle Safety, Drug Awareness, Fire Safety, The McDonald’s All-American Reading Challenge and the Ray Kroc Youth Achievement Award and Scholarship.

Diane is in her fourth term as a member of the Board of Directors for the Ronald McDonald House Charities. She has assisted in gaining over $70 thousand in grants for local organizations, including Rolling Hills Council’s Girl Scouting Beyond Bars program.

Diane is a life-long Girl Scout and credits much of her confidence, positive outlook, and success to the movement. She met her closest childhood friend through Girl Scouting, a friendship that has lasted over 35 years. Like her friend’s mom who served as the troop leader, Diane now leads her daughters’ troops, Junior Troop 490 and Brownie Troop 522. In addition, she is the Metuchen Diocese’s Girl Scout Parish Coordinator at Immaculate Conception Church and is a member of the YMCA’s Public Relations Committee.

In 1992, Diane and husband Phil were nominated for the "Good New Neighbor" award and in 1999 were presented with a commendation by the NJ Legislature for McDonald’s dedication to children in the field of education. They were recently honored as "Community Partners" by the Hunterdon County YMCA.
