Victoria Morrison Partner, Riker, Danzig, Scherer, Hyland & Peretti LLP Victoria A. Morrison is a partner in the law firm of Riker, Danzig, Scherer, Hyland and Perretti. Her practice area includes Real Estate and Financial Institutions Groups. She has considerable commercial real estate experience, particularly in the acquisition, development, leasing and sale of commercial, retail, and industrial properties. She represents lenders in all types of real estate financings. She also has extensive experience in the formation and structuring of real estate partnerships and joint ventures, the federal tax aspects of complex commercial real estate transactions, and all aspects of real estate workouts and foreclosures including bankruptcy. For several years prior to joining the firm, she served as Assistant Professor of Law at Rutgers School of Law in Newark, where she taught several courses in real estate law and finance. While attending George Washington University as an undergraduate, Victoria was called home to fill-in for her father’s ailing office manager for his bustling medical practice. It resulted in her transfer to Case Western Reserve University to secure a B.A. in 1973 and a J.D. degree in 1976. Victoria was admitted to the New York Bar in 1977 and New Jersey Bar in 1981. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the International Council of Shopping Centers, and the National Association of Industrial and Office Parks. Girl Scouting provided Victoria with her first leadership experiences. A Girl Scout from Brownie through Cadette levels, she recalls being elected a "group leader" during summer camp. She also developed a life-long interest in history and considered teaching the subject before the Law called her. It is not surprising that drafting documents is her favorite part of her practice. |
