Suzanne Lagay
President,
Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce

When asked what advice she would give to today's girls and young women, Suzanne Lagay replied, "Follow your dream!" It appears that Suzanne has the unique ability to practice what she preaches.

As President and Chief Executive Officer of the Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce, Suzanne is at the heart of Hunterdon's business community. Under her leadership, the Chamber has become a vital organization that has ushered change, growth and partnerships within Hunterdon County. She is equally at home working with corporate giants or small businesses.

Prior to joining the Chamber staff, Suzanne enjoyed a great deal of diversity in her professional life. She founded her own company and worked as a consultant and corporate trainer, as an administrator in the health care industry and was the director of peri-natal nursing at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. Suzanne has authored many publications for the business community and has consulted on films and educational materials for expectant parents. From consulting on corporate mergers and developing business and marketing plans to delivering babies, Suzanne continues to change and grow professionally and personally.

Suzanne's entrée into the world of volunteering began with leading a Brownie troop. She continues to serve her community in many capacities, serving on boards and advisory committees with the Chamber, the United Way of Hunterdon County, Hunterdon Economic Partnership, Hunterdon County Employer's Legislative Committee, Greater Raritan Workforce Investment Board and Hunterdon County Medication Access Partnership. She is also a member of the Flemington Rotary, The New Jersey Association Chamber of Commerce Executives and the Raritan Valley Community College Advisory Board for Civic Involvement and Volunteerism.

Suzanne has lived all over the country and even spent a year in Switzerland. For the past eight years, Suzanne has made her home in the Annandale section of Clinton Township.

When she isn't working or busy with her volunteer meetings and projects, Suzanne enjoys reading, cooking, photography, and travel, especially to her favorite lake retreat on Lake Ontario. She has three grown sons and six grandchildren, all in California.
